Why Henderson keeps me busy
Henderson grew fast through the late '90s and 2000s, and travertine was the floor of choice in a lot of those homes. Big open first floors, travertine entries, travertine showers, travertine around the pool. Fifteen or twenty years later, much of that stone has never been honed and was last sealed when the house was new, if ever.
The usual symptoms: holes opening up and filling with dirt, a dull traffic path through the kitchen, and a hazy, chalky look from hard water. All of it's fixable.
Neighborhoods I get called to
- Green Valley: established neighborhoods, many homes on their second or third flooring update
- Anthem: hillside homes and the Sun City Anthem active-adult community
- Seven Hills: golf-course homes and plenty of travertine
- MacDonald Highlands: custom homes with large stone floors
- Lake Las Vegas: Mediterranean-style homes and condos with lots of stone
What I do in Henderson homes
- Travertine polishing and honing
- Hole filling
- Pool deck and patio travertine
- Marble bathrooms and entries
Henderson businesses
Offices, medical buildings and retail along the main corridors need VCT strip and wax and burnishing, too. See commercial floor care.
